The Rail Transit Communication and Control Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center at Beijing Jiaotong University has clear construction objectives and a strong foundation. The center is supported by a national key discipline, a nationally recognized specialty program, one of the first majors in the national “Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program,” a national experimental teaching demonstration center, national-level research platforms, a national engineering practice education center, and a national teaching team. It consistently follows the construction philosophy of “fail-safe orientation, cutting-edge technology tracking, pursuit of original platforms, integration of research into teaching, equal emphasis on theory and engineering, and efficient open sharing of resources.”Through collaboration with rail transit R&D and operating enterprises, the center takes rail transit electromagnetic compatibility as its foundation, vehicle-ground wireless digital communication as its means, and safe and efficient train control as its goal. It transforms the latest research achievements into experimental teaching content, creating three categories of virtual simulation experimental resources: fully online simulation, hardware-in-the-loop equipment, and hardware-in-the-loop systems.

The Rail Transit Communication and Control Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center at Beijing Jiaotong University, in conjunction with the development of related courses and experimental systems in rail transit communication and control, has already completed a large number of undergraduate experimental teaching tasks. The center focuses on deepening construction in the following areas: increasing the quantity and quality of experiments, enhancing experiment configurability, and improving the level of resource sharing. It strives to build a virtual simulation experimental teaching center for rail transit communication and control that features data sourced from real-world operations, functionality equivalent to real-world systems, freely configurable experimental projects, and a high degree of open sharing.
In January 2015, the Beijing Jiaotong University Rail Transit Communication and Control Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center was selected as a National Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center. In May 2018, its “Rail Transit Train Operation Control Virtual Simulation Experiment Project” was included in the first batch of National Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Projects recognized by the Ministry of Education.
