The Electrical and Electronic Experimental Teaching Center of Beijing Jiaotong University was established in 1988. In 1996, it was integrated into the newly formed National Teaching Base for Fundamental Electrical and Electronic Engineering Courses in Engineering Disciplines. In 2006, it was officially approved as a “National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center” and successfully passed the evaluation by the Ministry of Education in 2013.

The center has established multiple experimental platforms, including Basic Circuits, Basic Electronics, System Integration, Electromagnetic Fields, and Student Innovation Practice. It covers a total laboratory area of approximately 1,600 square meters, with 12 full-time laboratory instructors and more than 30 part-time instructors. The center undertakes the electrical and electronic experimental teaching tasks for all electronic information-related majors at the university, as well as for some non-electrical majors, with an annual teaching workload exceeding 100,000 student-hours. It also organizes and provides guidance for student innovation and entrepreneurship practice projects, and organizes and coaches various university-level disciplinary competitions.
In recent years, the center has received multiple national and provincial/ministerial-level teaching achievement awards. It has guided students to win more than 100 awards at the provincial/ministerial level or above in disciplinary competitions, making significant contributions to enhancing students’ practical and innovative abilities and to the development of the university’s programs.
