National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Electronic Information and Computer Science (Rail Transit Signaling and Control Professional Laboratory)

The National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Electronic Information and Computer Science — Rail Transit Signaling and Control Professional Laboratory leverages the strengths and distinctive features of the national key discipline in Transportation Information Engineering & Control and the nationally recognized specialty in Automation. In accordance with the objectives of the “Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program,” the laboratory aims to cultivate outstanding engineering talents with a background in rail transit signaling and control who meet the needs of the rail transit industry. These talents possess a broad foundation, wide vision, distinctive individuality, strong development potential, innovative awareness, outstanding engineering literacy, and excellent comprehensive quality. In 2024, the laboratory was awarded the title of “Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Laboratory in Beijing Higher Education Institutions.”The laboratory mainly consists of three experimental platforms:

  1. Railway Signal Integrated Experimental Platform

Located in Room South 406, Building 9, this platform primarily serves courses such as Station Signal Automatic Control, Railway Signal Comprehensive Experiments, and Rail Transit Control Engineering. The laboratory has independently designed and developed systems including the Rail Transit Accident Reconstruction and Analysis System and the Signal Microcomputer Monitoring Simulation System. In collaboration with Beijing Jiaoda Micro-Link Technology Co., Ltd., it has introduced the Datong-Qinhuangdao Line Centralized Traffic Control Experimental System, JD-1A Computer Interlocking System, and Microcomputer Monitoring System. These facilities meet the experimental needs of students at different levels and support undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship training, curriculum design, professional practice, and comprehensive thesis training.

  1. Train Control Vehicle-Ground Communication Experimental Platform

Located in Room West 301, Building 9, this platform mainly supports courses such as Train Operation Control System and Railway Signal Comprehensive Experiments. In cooperation with Beijing Jiaokong Technology Co., Ltd. and Beijing Jiaoda Sino Technology Co., Ltd., the laboratory has designed and developed experimental teaching platforms for train operation control, balises, and locomotive signaling, providing a strong practical teaching environment for railway signaling experiments in the Automation major.

  1. Micromouse Innovation Experimental Platform

Located in the University Student Activity Center, this platform is primarily used for the design, application, and competition training of intelligent micromice. The laboratory currently possesses: One set each of international IEEE-standard 16×16 and 8×8 mazes

2 first-generation stepping motor micromice

1 second-generation stepping motor micromouse

10 third-generation stepping motor micromice

2 fourth-generation DC motor micromice

2 fifth-generation DC motor micromice

30 sixth-generation DC motor micromice

These are mainly used for coursework and competition training. The platform organizes and participates in various competitions, including the National Rail Transit Signaling and Control Artificial Intelligence “Micromouse Maze” Competition, university-level, Beijing municipal, and national micromouse maze competitions.
